Our verdict on Triofox

Triofox connects existing file servers and cloud storage with web, desktop, and mobile access. It is designed for small offices, midsize companies, and enterprises that need a shared file environment across on-premises and cloud repositories. Its feature set covers mapped drives, global file locking, local caching, offline access, synchronization across sites, secure web-link sharing, file receiving, permissions, version control, retention policies, ransomware protection, and cloud backup or migration. Deployment can be self-hosted on Windows Server or cloud-hosted, with support for web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

The published plans show annual billing for all three editions, priced per user per month. Office Edition costs $11 and includes the web-based file manager, Windows mapped drive, Mac Finder integration, mobile applications, file locking, and standard support. Business Edition costs $15 and adds version control, ransomware protection, audit trace, SAML integration, single sign-on, and a secure data room. Enterprise Edition costs $22 and adds private or public cloud backup, private or public cloud migration, Compliance Center, customization, and premium support. A 30-day free trial is available, while the product is paid rather than free.

Triofox fits organizations that want cloud access while retaining existing file servers, permissions, and storage investments. Its ecosystem includes Active Directory, Amazon S3, S3-compatible storage, Microsoft Azure Blob, OpenStack, Wasabi, Microsoft SharePoint, WebDAV, and CIFS/SMB file shares. The hybrid deployment model, global namespace, local caching, and edge synchronization suit distributed teams working across multiple repositories. Teams needing version control and ransomware protection must choose Business Edition or higher, while backup, migration, customization, or premium support require Enterprise Edition. Organizations seeking a simpler file-sharing service without mapped drives, repository integration, or hybrid deployment may find Triofox broader than necessary.
