Our verdict on TrendWatching

TrendWatching is a web-based consumer trend intelligence and innovation research platform for marketers, creatives, strategists, entrepreneurs and innovators. Its focus is understanding changing consumer expectations and turning emerging trends into products, services and campaigns. The platform combines a daily insights feed, searchable innovation examples, trend reports, industry and regional views, project folders, webinars and analyst interaction. It is a good fit for teams researching innovation opportunities, while organizations seeking direct competitor monitoring should look elsewhere.

The published plans show a freemium structure. Seeker includes Daily Mini-Trends, one Monthly Trend Report and a Trend Newsletter. Pioneer costs $990 per year when billed annually and adds 32,000+ Innovations, Monthly Topic & Industry Reports, Annual Trend Reports, AI x Ideation Playbooks, and Quarterly Webinars & Meetups. Enterprise costs $7,500 per year when billed annually and adds discounted pricing for multiple teams, access to Trend Analysts, a dedicated account manager, support every step of the way and optional single sign-on. This progression makes the free tier suitable for initial exploration, Pioneer suited to ongoing research, and Enterprise more relevant to multi-team programs.

Its strongest differentiator is breadth within consumer trends and innovation research: the platform covers 15 industry sectors and regional views for Africa, APAC, LATAM, Europe and North America. Users can organize and share research in project folders, interact with analysts through platform chat or email, and connect SSO through SAML or OIDC, with Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace and OneLogin listed as integrations. The trade-off is a narrow competitive-intelligence scope: there is no competitor tracking, change alerts, traffic data or data history. Choose TrendWatching for trend-led discovery and ideation; choose an alternative for ongoing competitor surveillance or built-in AI tools.
