Our verdict on TimeCamp

TimeCamp is time-tracking software for freelancers, small businesses, professional-services teams, and enterprises. It combines manual and automatic tracking against projects and tasks with project budgets, estimates, billable rates, timesheets, manager approvals, reporting, invoicing, and attendance tools. Teams can track through web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and a Chrome extension, making it a fit for distributed workforces and varied device environments.

TimeCamp uses a freemium pricing model. The Free plan costs $0. Starter costs $3.99 per user per month when billed annually, Premium costs $6.99 per user per month when billed annually, and Ultimate costs $9.99 per user per month when billed annually. A 14-day free trial is also available. The plan structure gives buyers a low-cost entry point while leaving room to move into higher paid tiers as their tracking and workforce-management requirements expand. Available capabilities include Excel, CSV, PDF, and Google Spreadsheet exports, plus integrations with Trello, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, ClickUp, Zendesk, Salesforce, and Azure DevOps.

Automatic activity capture is the product’s clearest point of distinction. Its desktop application can record computer activity, applications, and websites, while mobile apps support time tracking with limited offline synchronization. That depth can help managers connect time to projects, review productivity reports, approve timesheets, and invoice from billable hours. It may be more product than teams that only need a simple manual timer require, and activity monitoring may not suit every workplace. Choose TimeCamp when automatic capture, approvals, billing, and reporting matter together; consider a narrower tool when basic time entry is the priority.
