Our verdict on Time Doctor

Time Doctor is employee time-tracking and workforce-analytics software for remote, hybrid, and in-office teams. It tracks work across projects and tasks, supports attendance, schedules, leave, breaks, timesheet approvals, payroll workflows, and billable time, and provides reporting for managers, operations teams, agencies, and organizations that need workforce visibility. Access spans web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, a Chrome extension, API, and self-hosted deployments.

Pricing is paid-only, with a 14-day free trial. Basic costs $6.67 per user per month when billed annually and includes automatic tracking, projects and tasks, timeline reports, screenshots, and online/offline tracking. Standard costs $11.67 per user per month when billed annually, adding attendance, time approvals, schedules, web and app usage reporting, payroll, and 60+ integrations. Premium costs $16.70 per user per month when billed annually and adds Benchmarks AI, video screen recording, executive dashboards, open API access, and single sign-on. Enterprise adds private cloud deployment, customizable BI dashboards, guided implementation, and professional services.

The platform’s main distinction is the breadth of monitoring and workforce controls in one system. Optional screenshots and video recordings sit alongside productivity ratings, usage reporting, attendance data, approvals, payroll reports, and analytics. Integrations include Rippling, Xero AU Payroll, PayPal Payouts, Payoneer, Wise, Asana, Jira, BambooHR, Workday, ADP Workforce Now, and Zoho People. Choose Time Doctor when management needs detailed oversight across time, attendance, billing, and payroll processes. Teams seeking a lightweight tracker or a free starting plan should consider a narrower alternative.
