Our verdict on Tenki Sandbox
Tenki Sandbox provides disposable, hardware-isolated Linux virtual machines for AI agents, developers, and automated workloads. Teams can create sessions, execute commands, transfer files, expose ports, connect over SSH, and manage environments through a CLI or Go, TypeScript, and Python SDKs. It is designed for code execution and agent workloads that should not access the host machine directly. The service runs in the cloud and supports Linux, macOS, and API access.
The plan structure covers individual evaluation through larger team deployments. The free Starter plan includes five concurrent sessions, 100 GiB of storage, and machine sizes up to 4 cores and 8 GB RAM. Team provides 100 concurrent sessions, 1,000 GiB of storage, machine sizes up to 16 cores and 64 GB RAM, and priority support; it costs $250 per month with monthly billing or $200 per month with annual billing. Enterprise adds higher concurrent-session limits and storage on demand, machine sizes up to 64 cores and 256 GB RAM on demand, SLA support, a dedicated Slack support channel, and custom invoicing and payment terms. Usage is billed per second for CPU, memory, disk, and storage, while workspace credits and limits vary by plan.
Tenki’s strongest fit is controlled, programmable execution for AI agents and development workflows. Sessions can be paused and resumed, captured as snapshots, created from custom templates, and paired with persistent volumes for durable data. Claude Code, Codex, and MCP clients are supported through an MCP server for agent tool access. These capabilities make it suitable for teams that need isolated Linux environments with repeatable session management. Teams seeking a broader operating-system focus or a lower-cost paid starting point should consider alternatives; Tenki is most appropriate when hardware isolation, API and CLI control, and persistent sandbox workflows justify its pricing.
