Our verdict on Tasks
Tasks is an Android planner for organizing personal, work, and study tasks, with reminders and task tracking in one app. It suits solo users and small-scale needs: deadlines can trigger scheduled or advance notifications, and tasks can repeat daily, weekly, or monthly. A monthly calendar view, priorities, categories, search, and filtering help users keep plans organized. The app works offline, and task data is stored locally on the device, making it a fit for people who want an Android-focused planner rather than a shared, cross-platform system.
The feature set extends beyond basic reminders. Users can add subtasks, comments, file attachments, and voice notes recorded within a task, then review progress statistics. The home-screen widget provides access to tasks from Android’s home screen. Tasks also supports local manual or automatic backups, with optional password protection. These tools make it more suitable for managing ongoing personal or work routines than for capturing only occasional alerts. The published feature list does not include calendar sync or integrations, so users who need reminders tied to an external calendar should consider a different app.
Tasks has a free plan with core features, plus monthly and yearly Pro subscriptions that unlock extended features. According to the vendor’s description, subscription prices vary by region and are displayed through Google Play, so buyers can check their localized price there before subscribing. The app is Android-only, with email listed as a support channel. It may suit users who value local task storage, recurring reminders, and basic progress tracking; it is a less suitable choice for people seeking location-based alerts, speech recognition, or a broader platform ecosystem.
