Our verdict on Synnax
Synnax is a streaming time-series database and hardware operations platform for engineering teams working with test stands, production lines, and other hardware systems. It collects, stores, streams, visualizes, and analyzes sensor and actuator data while supporting real-time hardware control. The platform includes a Core server, desktop Console, device drivers, and Python and TypeScript client libraries. Teams can deploy it at the edge, in the cloud, on virtual machines, in containers, or on bare metal across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
Its strongest fit is industrial work that needs telemetry and operational control in the same system. Synnax provides real-time dashboards and telemetry line plots, manual hardware control from the Console, and automated control sequences. Python and TypeScript clients support reading, writing, and streaming, while atomic frame-based write transactions help structure data ingestion. Writer modes include persist-only, stream-only, and stream-and-persist, giving teams options for handling live and retained data. Horizontal clustering supports distributed operation across multiple Synnax nodes.
Connectivity is broad for hardware-heavy environments, with EtherCAT, LabJack, Modbus TCP, National Instruments, OPC UA, and HTTP/HTTPS drivers. Configurable TLS and certificate-based deployment security add controls for connected systems. Pricing is handled through a contact-sales model rather than a published plan structure. Synnax should suit teams that need real-time telemetry, device connectivity, dashboards, and hardware automation together. Teams seeking a narrowly focused time-series store or a simple analytics tool may find its server, Console, drivers, and control capabilities more involved than necessary.
