Shard Tabletop is a browser-based virtual tabletop and character-management platform for D&D 5E players and gamemasters. It supports campaign creation, campaign state management, maps, encounters, tokens, combat tracking, digital character sheets, searchable rules content, books, handouts, chat, shared dice rolls, notes, and audio controls. Gamemasters can prepare and run adventures online or in person, invite players, and create custom classes, races, monsters, spells, and adventures. It is a strong fit for groups that want rules and campaign management in one place without starting with a paid plan.
The free version provides SRD-based content and access to the core campaign experience. The Subscription plan costs $19.99 per year when billed annually. It adds additional races, classes, spells, feats, and backgrounds, along with unlimited access to additional free marketplace content. That low annual price makes the paid tier straightforward for groups that want a wider content library, while the free plan gives new campaigns a way to begin with limited upfront cost.
Its main strength is breadth within a D&D 5E campaign: rules reference, character management, encounter preparation, combat tracking, automation, custom content, chat, dice, handouts, and audio are combined in the same browser-based service.
