Our verdict on Sentry WMS

Sentry WMS is a self-hosted, open-source warehouse management system for e-commerce fulfillment teams. It connects barcode scans, pick tasks, inventory movements, and fulfillment records with a company’s database or ERP. The product includes a React web administration panel, a Flask API, and a React Native mobile application, with deployment through Docker Compose. Its workflow coverage suits warehouses that need structured receiving, put-away, picking, packing, inventory control, and transfers without a paid software license.

The strongest part of Sentry WMS is its warehouse execution depth. Receiving supports purchase-order barcode scanning, while suggested bin placement and scan-to-confirm put-away help organize inbound stock. Multi-order batch picking includes optimized walk paths, and pack-station scan verification adds a control point before fulfillment is recorded. Bin-level cycle counting includes variance detection, and teams can manage bin-to-bin and inter-warehouse transfers. Barcode lookup extends across items, bins, purchase orders, and sales orders, giving the system a consistent scan-driven operating model.

Pricing and deployment are straightforward: the published plan is Free and open source, licensed under Apache 2.0, with self-hosted deployment.
