Our verdict on Pushbullet

Pushbullet connects phones and computers for sending files, links and messages between devices. It suits individuals and small teams that need lightweight device-to-device transfers rather than a conventional business file-sharing repository. Access spans the web, Windows, iOS, Android, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera browser extensions, with cloud, desktop, mobile and browser-extension deployment. The service also supports notification mirroring and SMS messaging from a computer through an Android phone.

Its platform coverage is the main strength. Users can send files through the website, Windows app, Android app, iPhone app and browser extensions, while the website and Windows app support drag-and-drop transfers. Pushbullet also provides a developer API for sending and receiving pushes, plus OAuth access for third-party applications. These options make it a practical fit when the workflow centers on moving files, links or messages between personal devices and connected computers. Email support and documentation are available, although the product remains focused on lightweight communication rather than a broad collaboration ecosystem.

The published Pro plan includes a 1 GB maximum file size, 100 GB of storage, unlimited messages, optional end-to-end encryption and API access. A free plan is also available. The 1 GB file limit, minimal sharing controls and lack of integrations constrain its usefulness for teams managing structured file repositories, complex permissions or wider business workflows. Choose Pushbullet for quick transfers across devices, browser-based access and simple API-driven pushes. Choose an alternative when centralized team sharing, deeper integrations or more advanced file-management controls are central requirements.
