Our verdict on Pentestas API Scanner

Pentestas API Scanner evaluates live APIs and uploaded API specifications for security weaknesses. It is designed for teams testing REST, SOAP, OpenAPI, Swagger, Postman, GraphQL, and gRPC interfaces, with browser-based workflows for API scanning, OpenAPI analysis, and JWT inspection. Its coverage includes authentication and authorization checks, BOLA and BFLA probes, mass-assignment testing, injection payloads, rate-limit and method testing, JWT weakness detection, GraphQL query-abuse testing, and gRPC message-level fuzzing.

The pricing structure separates limited free API Scanner access from paid Pentestas platform tiers. The API Scanner offers two free runs per tool per IP per day, while a 14-day free trial is also available. Starter costs $99 per month with monthly billing or $79 per month with annual billing and includes automated web scanning, OWASP Top 10 coverage, basic PDF and JSON reports, and email support. Professional costs $299 monthly or $249 monthly with annual billing, adding full web and API scanning, authenticated scanning, Swagger/OpenAPI auto-discovery, CI/CD integration, Slack and Jira notifications, and priority chat support.

Business costs $599 monthly or $499 monthly with annual billing and adds an AI exploitation engine, exploit chaining and data extraction, mobile app pentesting, custom compliance, a dedicated account manager, and phone support. Enterprise adds unlimited verified domains, continuous penetration testing, red team exercises, custom integrations, on-premise deployment, executive dashboards, and a dedicated security team. GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Slack, and Jira integrations support development and notification workflows. Choose Pentestas for broad protocol coverage and layered API security checks; teams seeking only basic web scanning may find Starter sufficient, while organizations needing on-premise deployment or custom integrations should choose Enterprise.
