The catalog harvests technical metadata from cloud, on-premises, and connected sources into a searchable, standardized inventory. Its business glossary supports categories, hierarchies, owners, and approval status, while tags, business terms, and custom properties add context to assets.

Lineage is a notable part of the catalog's scope: graphs include entity- and column-level views, with impact views to help assess relationships between assets. Scheduled or on-demand automatic harvesting supports keeping catalog metadata refreshed. OCI Data Flow and Object Storage data lakes can use a unified metastore.
