Our verdict on Observe by Snowflake
Observe by Snowflake is a fully managed observability platform for SRE, DevOps, application-development, product and support teams. It accepts OpenTelemetry logs, metrics and traces without sampling, then connects those signals through an Observability Context Graph. Distributed tracing spans microservices, databases, AI agents and cloud infrastructure, while application-performance monitoring covers latency, errors and throughput. Mid-market and enterprise teams can use it through web and API interfaces.
Pricing is usage-based rather than seat-based. The Logs plan costs $0.49 per GiB and includes compute, unlimited users and 30-day retention. Metrics costs $0.008 per DPM with compute included, unlimited users and 13-month retention. Traces costs $0.59 per GiB and includes compute, unlimited users and 30-day retention. There is no free plan, so buyers should estimate telemetry volumes across each signal type before committing. The published structure can suit organizations that prefer metered rates over per-user licensing.
Observe’s strongest differentiator is correlated analysis: teams can move among logs, traces, metrics and infrastructure data, examine deployment regressions through before-and-after performance signals, and use AI SRE for incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
