Nero BackItUp is paid backup software for Windows PCs, with an Android app for backing up mobile data over Wi-Fi. It is aimed at people who want to protect files on computers and Android devices without limiting destinations to local storage. Windows backups can go to external hard drives, USB drives, optical media, NAS systems, OneDrive, or Google Drive. The Android app supports photos, videos, music, contacts, call logs, SMS, and MMS, and can send that data to a phone or computer over Wi-Fi.
Its strongest fit is flexible file protection. Backups can run daily, weekly, or monthly, while continuous backup covers newly updated files. File version management provides access to earlier versions, and compression can reduce storage use. AES 256-bit hardware-accelerated encryption adds protection for backed-up files.
