  • Where it wins

    • Dry runs estimate required usage before a transfer.
    • Resumable parallel transfers include retries and incremental reruns.
    • Per-file logs and checksums support migration review.
  • Where it doesn't

    • Transfers are operator-launched; scheduling is not supported.
    • Pricing is based on one-time usage packs rather than a free plan.
    • Ongoing event-triggered transfers are outside Mover's focus.

Our verdict on Mover

Mover is Files.com's cloud service for one-time, manually initiated file migrations. It connects supported cloud storage, collaboration services, and file protocols, with the Files.com Agent providing access to storage reachable from a Windows, Linux, or macOS host. That makes it a fit for teams planning a discrete move between services or accessible storage, rather than setting up continuous synchronization.

Migration controls are the main draw. A free dry run scans files and estimates the required usage pack before transfer. Glob-pattern filters can include or exclude files, while parallel transfers, resumable processing, and automatic retries help manage interrupted work. Incremental reruns skip unchanged files, and per-file logs and reports give teams a record to review; checksums verify transfers where supported. These features make Mover more suited to a managed migration than a basic copy operation, though they do not change its operator-launched workflow.

Pricing is one-time by usage pack: 100 GB costs $39, 200 GB $59, 400 GB $99, 1 TB $199, 2 TB $379, 5 TB $799, and 10 TB $1,499. Each plan includes unlimited connections, unlimited dry runs, and standard support. Larger migrations can use enterprise pricing. Mover is a reasonable choice when a team can estimate a bounded transfer and values validation and reruns; teams needing scheduled or event-triggered movement should look to a different Files.com capability rather than treat Mover as an ongoing transfer service.
