Our verdict on Maze

Maze is a web-based product research platform for researchers, designers, product managers, and marketing teams. It covers prototype testing, live website and mobile app testing, surveys, card sorting, tree testing, moderated interviews, AI-moderated studies, participant recruitment, and automated reporting. Teams can recruit through Maze Panel or bring their own participants, making it suitable for both focused usability checks and broader product research workflows.

The published plans show a useful entry point for small teams. The Free plan includes one study per month, five seats, basic prototype tests and surveys, and pay-per-use panel credits. A 30-day trial is also available. Enterprise adds custom study volumes, unlimited seats, a global participant panel, moderated and AI-moderated interviews, mobile testing, and enterprise-grade security and support. Teams that need recurring research at larger scale should compare those additions with the contact-sales buying process; smaller teams can start with the Free plan when its study limit fits their cadence.

Maze also fits teams working across design, product, analytics, collaboration, and conferencing tools. Integrations include Figma, Axure, FigJam, Miro, Slack, Amplitude, Atlassian, Notion, Google Calendar, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Outlook.com, Zoom, and iCloud. Its research depth includes heatmaps, usability metrics, behavioral analysis, AI summaries, themes, transcripts, and automated reports. Choose Maze if you want multiple study types, participant recruitment, mobile coverage, and analysis in one platform. Teams seeking a narrowly focused testing tool or a simpler workflow may prefer a product with fewer study formats and lower process overhead.
