Our verdict on Macrotrack
Macrotrack is a calorie and nutrition diary for people who want to track food, macros, water and weight across devices. Its food logging covers barcode scans, search and manual entry, with saved meals, favourites and recurring logs. Daily totals include calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat. The app is oriented around Australian foods and suits individuals who want planning and tracking in one diary, including access when offline.
Meal planning can extend up to two weeks ahead, while custom reminders and intermittent fasting alerts add scheduling to the daily log. Macrotrack also tracks water and weight, and lets users export food, weight and water records as CSV. The offline diary syncs across devices. It runs as an installable web app from Chrome on Android rather than as a native Play Store app, so people who specifically want an app-store installation may prefer another option.
The Free plan costs nothing and includes barcode scanning, search and manual entry, meals, favourites, history, water and weight tracking, and offline use. Pro adds AI capture from meal or nutrition-label photos and plain-word meal descriptions, plus priority support. According to the published plans, Pro costs AUD 9.95 monthly or AUD 79 annually; its seven-day trial requires a card. Macrotrack is a fit for people who value a free, cross-platform diary and planning tools, or want AI-assisted capture on Pro. Those who require a native Android app or do not want to provide a card for a trial should look elsewhere.
