Our verdict on Kubeterm
Kubeterm is a graphical Kubernetes client for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. It is aimed at operators and developers who manage clusters across cloud providers or need Kubernetes access away from a desktop. The client connects directly to Kubernetes APIs without requiring an in-cluster installation, discovers kubeconfig files automatically, and supports authentication for AWS EKS, Google GKE, Azure AKS, and DigitalOcean. OIDC support adds another authentication option for compatible environments.
Its feature set covers both inspection and day-to-day operations. Users can browse resources and CRDs, edit YAML, view metrics and logs, open terminal and exec sessions, browse pod files, forward ports, and use debug containers. Cluster operations include scaling, rollouts, restarts, node cordon, and node drain. Helm release management and Artifact Hub chart installation extend the client beyond basic resource viewing, while Argo CD and Flux CD visibility provides a view of GitOps-managed applications. Prometheus is also supported as an integration. This breadth makes Kubeterm more suitable for active cluster management than for simple read-only monitoring.
The published desktop pricing is free, and the free plan spans the supported desktop platforms. The vendor states that iOS and Android use a paid subscription, so mobile access follows a different pricing model. Kubeterm also includes built-in AI chat for investigating cluster resources, manifests, events, and logs, with support for OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and DeepSeek through user-provided model credentials. Choose Kubeterm if mobile access, multi-cloud authentication, operational controls, Helm, GitOps visibility, and AI-assisted investigation belong in one client. Choose an alternative if you need a single pricing model across desktop and mobile or only require a narrowly focused Kubernetes viewer.
