Our verdict on iUgo

iUgo is a browser-based lesson planning platform for teachers, teams and schools, with a particular fit for Australian and Australasian education settings. It combines long-term, unit, inquiry and lesson planning with weekly and daily timetable planning. Teachers can create, share and co-author plans, while school leaders can review planning across teams. Curriculum mapping covers the Australian, NSW and Victorian curricula, and the platform also includes student and group management, resource linking and secure backup.

The published plans show a paid structure with an annual billing basis. iUgo Planner costs $15 per user per month and includes the core planners, Task Manager, curriculum options, Google integration and 650 MB of secure backup storage. iUgo Pro costs $28 per user per month and adds priority support, unlimited Teachables access and 750 MB of secure backup storage. iUgo School includes everything in Pro, plus a dedicated account manager and discounted pricing based on team size and level. A 60-day free trial is advertised, and prices are subject to GST.

Its strongest case is breadth within school planning rather than general-purpose productivity. The service brings curriculum alignment, planning across several time horizons, co-authoring, student grouping, resource backup and management review into one web-based workspace. Teachables access can extend the resource workflow, while Google Drive is the listed external integration. Schools wanting curriculum-aware collaboration and visibility should find the feature mix relevant; individual teachers may prefer the lower Planner tier. iUgo is less suitable for teams requiring mobile access, broad integrations or a free ongoing plan.
