iTop is a web-based, open-source IT service management and CMDB platform from Combodo. It is designed for IT departments, service providers, and organizations managing shared infrastructures. Its scope covers incident and service-request tickets, problems, changes, service catalogs, configuration items, SLA tracking, notifications, automation, reporting, and customer-facing ticket submission through a portal. The Community edition is free, available on-premise, and supports up to 10 agents in the current offer.

The platform’s strongest differentiator is its CMDB-centered approach. Configurable data models and configuration-item relationships connect operational records to the services and infrastructure they affect, while impact analysis supports incident and change assessment. Service catalogs integrate with incidents, requests, problems, and changes. SLA measurement includes time-to-own and time-to-resolve deadlines, with escalation workflows, automated notifications, ticket assignment, and dispatch helping teams structure routine operations. REST/JSON APIs, webhooks, CSV and Excel exchange, PDF reporting, email, OCS Inventory, VMware, Microsoft Graph, and Power BI support integration and reporting needs.

Pricing is structured around a free Community edition and paid Atelier and Forge subscription packages. Atelier adds operational service management with support and upgrade assistance, and is available as SaaS or on-premise. Forge targets industrial service management with expert support and customization, also across SaaS and on-premise deployments. The published offers make iTop a practical choice for teams prioritizing open-source control, CMDB relationships, and service-management workflows. Organizations seeking verified on-call scheduling, post-incident reviews, or a public customer-facing incident status page should choose a platform built around those response and communications functions instead.
