Indenta is a browser-based outliner for structured notes, personal knowledge bases, journals, project planning, and drafting. Its free plan is available on the web, Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, with offline access for working across supported platforms. The core editing model centers on nested lines, indentation, folding, zooming, search, filtering, and drag-and-drop or keyboard-based reordering. That makes Indenta a fit for individuals who want an outline-first workspace rather than a general-purpose document editor.
Its strongest area is the combination of structured navigation and connected notes. Wiki-links create references between notes, while automatic backlinks help surface those relationships. Tags, saved searches, and date-based search add several ways to retrieve information as a personal knowledge base grows. Markdown rendering and export preserve a text-oriented workflow, with notes exported as Markdown files in a ZIP archive. Peer-to-peer synchronization over WebRTC supports device-to-device syncing, and optional Google Drive synchronization and backups add a cloud-assisted path without changing the product’s local storage emphasis.
Indenta also includes optional on-device AI for search, summarization, and content generation in supported Chrome versions.
