Our verdict on HeavyM

HeavyM is desktop projection-mapping software for artists, VJs, event producers, A/V professionals, and permanent installations. It combines drawing, warping, masking, visual effects, media playlists, music reactivity, timeline-based show organization, live inputs, and external control. Its AI image and video generation features give creators another way to develop content alongside traditional mapping workflows.

The edition structure separates live performance needs from larger installations. Live includes one video output, music reactivity, and MIDI control. Pro adds unlimited video outputs, a timeline module, edge blending, and NDI input/output. Pro+ includes the Pro feature set plus video export, remote project editing, and startup automation. Rent-to-own versions mirror the Live, Pro, and Pro+ editions, with each license becoming perpetual after six months. HeavyM is a paid product with no free plan, so buyers should choose an edition based on output requirements and whether permanent installation features matter.

HeavyM fits workflows that need both real-time operation and prepared shows. Syphon, Spout, NDI, MIDI, OSC, DMX/Art-Net, and DeckLink support connect it with video sources, controllers, lighting systems, and capture hardware. Multi-projector output and edge blending broaden its installation use, while music reactivity and live controls suit performances. It is a strong choice for creators who want mapping, AI-generated visuals, and advanced show control in one desktop application. Buyers seeking a free tool, a different operating system, or only a simple single-output workflow should consider a narrower alternative.
