Our verdict on Halo Security
Halo Security is a cloud-based external attack surface management platform for security, IT, compliance, and risk teams. It continuously discovers internet-facing domains, subdomains, hostnames, IP addresses, and cloud-exposed resources, then applies agentless scanning across firewalls, websites, technologies, servers, and applications. Its scope also covers APIs, cloud services, subsidiaries, and third-party technologies, making it a fit for small teams that need ongoing external visibility without deploying agents.
The published EASM plan costs $399 per month on monthly billing. It includes cloud-exposed asset discovery, firewall, website, technology, and server scanning, plus DNS record, load balancer, and elastic IP monitoring. The platform adds daily asset updates, vulnerability detection beyond CVEs, cloud misconfiguration and subdomain takeover detection, risk scores, severity prioritization, and KEV-based prioritization. Search, filtering, categorization, tagging, and remediation tracking support the path from discovery to follow-up. Optional integrated manual penetration testing and PCI DSS ASV scanning with compliance reporting extend the offering beyond automated monitoring.
Halo Security’s ecosystem includes AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, Jira, PagerDuty, Vanta, Splunk, Slack, Google Chat, ServiceNow, ArmorCode, GoDaddy, Linode, and F5 BIG-IP. Workflow integrations, feeds, webhooks, and API access support connections to existing security and operational processes, while web and API access suit teams that want programmatic workflows. Choose Halo Security when continuous external discovery, cloud coverage, prioritization, and remediation tracking matter more than a broad internal asset-management scope. Teams seeking a wider platform focus or more plan packaging may prefer an alternative.
