Our verdict on Google Cloud VPC
Google Cloud VPC provides software-defined networking for organizations running resources on Google Cloud. It gives teams global VPC networks with regional subnets, traffic controls through firewall rules, route management, network peering, VPN connectivity, and private access to managed services. Small businesses, mid-market teams, and enterprises can manage it through the Google Cloud console, command-line tools, APIs, and Terraform-based infrastructure as code.
The service itself has no standalone usage charge, according to the published pricing description. That makes it a practical foundation for teams that want core VPC capabilities without a separate VPC subscription, while associated networking and resource services can still incur Google Cloud usage fees. Its platform fit is focused rather than multi-cloud: deployment is cloud-based, the supported cloud count is one, and the service is designed around Google Cloud resources.
