Our verdict on Baidu AI Cloud VPC
Baidu AI Cloud VPC is a managed virtual networking service for organizations building isolated networks for cloud workloads and connecting them to on-premises infrastructure. Its controls suit mid-market and enterprise teams that need to define address ranges, segment subnets and govern traffic within Baidu Cloud. The service is accessed through the cloud console and APIs, with Terraform management also supported.
The networking feature set reaches beyond basic segmentation. Administrators can configure global and subnet-level route tables, create VPC peering across networks and regions, and establish site-to-site VPN tunnels to customer IDC networks. ACLs and security groups provide traffic controls, while Service Network Interface Card supports private access to cloud services. Flow logs aid traffic analysis; NAT and IPv6 gateways cover additional network needs. Baidu Cloud Compute and Baidu Object Storage are named integrations, so this is most compelling for workloads already using Baidu's ecosystem rather than teams seeking a cloud-neutral VPC layer.
According to the vendor's pricing page, VPC core resources are free, including subnets, route tables, security groups, ACLs, elastic network interfaces and dedicated gateways. Enhanced NAT gateway instances and enhanced NAT capacity units are billed separately; the published pricing is in Chinese yuan and regional charges can vary. That makes the core network approachable to evaluate, but gateway-dependent designs need to account for paid components. Choose this service when Baidu Cloud is your target environment and you need detailed routing, hybrid connectivity or private service access. Organizations needing multi-cloud deployment or support beyond documentation should compare alternatives.
