Our verdict on GitForge

GitForge is a multi-tenant Git hosting platform for individuals, teams, and organizations that need repositories, pull requests, issues, wikis, CI/CD pipelines, Git LFS, and access controls in one service. Its feature set suits teams wanting a broad Git forge rather than repository hosting alone, with web and API access plus automation through SDKs, command-line tools, and webhooks.

The published plans give smaller teams a practical starting point. Free includes unlimited public and private repositories, 1 GB of managed storage, up to 100 collaborators, Git Smart HTTP and SSH, and Git LFS. Pro costs $12 per user per month and adds customer-provided storage, 3,000 CI minutes per month, protected branches, merge queues, an audit log, and SSO. Enterprise adds 10,000 CI minutes per month, SCIM provisioning, advanced SSO, customer-managed encryption keys, IP allowlisting, policy controls, priority support, and SLAs. Teams should compare the Free and Pro storage models carefully when planning repository, artifact, or LFS workflows.

Storage and automation are central to GitForge's platform fit. It supports pluggable S3-compatible and cloud storage backends, including Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Box. The REST API, SDKs, CLI, and webhooks provide several paths for connecting development workflows, while sandboxed AI agents add repository-level automation. GitForge is a strong fit for teams that value a wide feature set and control over storage. Smaller projects can start on Free, while organizations needing advanced identity, policy, encryption, or support controls should evaluate Enterprise.
