Our verdict on Gamekeeper
Gamekeeper is a Windows desktop application for organizing, backing up, restoring, and synchronizing video-game save data. It is aimed at individual PC gamers who want more control than a simple copy-based backup, with automatic save-directory recognition, batch import for locally installed games, save spaces, multiple slots, branches, and versioned archives. Manual rollback, archive export, screen-capture previews, and screen-recording previews add visibility and recovery options around stored saves.
The Free edition includes auto recognition, batch import, visualized branches, Quick Save, cloud storage for selected sources, and multi-space with a three-space limit per game. The Pro edition includes the same listed core areas while expanding multi-space and cloud storage. Gamekeeper supports automatic, timed, real-time, and process-monitoring saves, plus incremental or delta storage. These options make it suitable for users who want backups triggered by time, activity, or a monitored game process rather than relying only on manual saves.
Its storage and synchronization fit is a significant part of the product. Cloud upload and download, conflict handling, rollback, and manual archive export work with WebDAV, Amazon S3, local directories, FTP, SFTP, and SMB/CIFS. The published documentation describes the software as currently in alpha testing, and it requires Windows 10/11 64-bit. Choose Gamekeeper if you want structured save history, branching, automated capture, and configurable storage connections on Windows. It is less suitable for players on other operating systems or anyone seeking a mature release rather than alpha software.
