Our verdict on Fn Project

Fn Project is an open-source, event-driven Functions-as-a-Service platform for developers and operators who want to run functions on infrastructure they control. It packages functions as native Docker containers and supports public, private, hybrid, and on-premises deployment. The platform fits teams building portable serverless workloads, especially where custom Docker images, arbitrary language runtimes, or deployment flexibility matter more than a fully managed service.

Its container model is the central strength. The Fn CLI supports function initialization, deployment, and invocation, while applications can group multiple functions and triggers. Officially supported runtime languages include Go, Java, Node.js, Python, Ruby, and C#, with Docker containers available for custom runtimes.
