Our verdict on Flexi-Grant
Flexi-Grant is cloud-based application management software for organisations that award funding. It is designed for charities, research funders, councils, government departments, community foundations and philanthropic organisations. The platform brings application forms, eligibility rules, applicant self-service, reviewer assignments, scoring, approval routes, grant awards, payment scheduling, monitoring, reporting and audit trails into one system. Applicants and reviewers work through dedicated portals, while administrators manage programmes, budgets and grant data through the web platform and API.
Its main strength is the breadth of the grant workflow. Flexigrant One covers application forms, eligibility checking, internal reviews, offer letters, payment scheduling, and query and export tools. Flexigrant Pro adds external, blind and parallel review rounds, applicant profiles, collaboration, EDI monitoring, claims, budget tables, funding sources, progress reporting, email MFA, single sign-on, Explorer API access and one CRM API. Flexigrant Enterprise extends this with custom domains and theming, foreign currency, budget approvals, an AI eligibility checker module, Insights and DRS Essentials, a complete API, Payments API and ORCID integration. These tiers make the product suited to programmes that need configurable review and funding administration rather than a simple submission form.
Pricing is handled through sales, and the published offer includes a 14-day trial rather than a perpetual free plan. Beyond Enterprise adds custom seat counts and volumes, training and enablement, and a bespoke playbook. Implementation is quoted separately, and cancellation fees may apply.
