Our verdict on FireBox
FireBox is an open-source WordPress plugin for building targeted popup campaigns with the Gutenberg editor. It suits site owners, marketers, and WooCommerce businesses that need more than a basic overlay, including lead capture, promotions, cart recovery, and conversion tracking. Campaigns can use lightboxes, sticky bars, slide-ins, fullscreen popups, sidebars, page-slides, and embeds. Forms include submission management and anti-spam protection, while custom CSS, JavaScript, PHP scripts, and a JSON API support deeper control.
The free plan supports unlimited websites and campaigns, with the popup library, page and URL targeting, page-load and click triggers, and MailChimp integration. Basic costs €59 per year for one website and adds exit-intent triggers, advanced display frequency, and PHP scripts. Pro costs €79 per year for five websites and adds revenue attribution, sales funnel analysis, click tracking, and ActiveCampaign, GetResponse, and MailerLite integrations. Growth costs €129 per year for up to 100 websites and adds Klaviyo, Salesforce Web-To-Lead, and everything in Pro.
FireBox’s strongest fit is a WordPress environment that needs detailed audience rules and measurable commercial outcomes. Targeting can use user roles, devices, geography, referrers, cookies, URLs, and WooCommerce conditions, while analytics cover views, clicks, conversions, revenue, filters, and dimensions. Integrations include WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, WPML, Zapier, Google Analytics, Brevo, AcyMailing, and several email platforms. The trade-off is that no verified A/B testing is included, and the most advanced integrations require paid tiers. Choose FireBox for broad WordPress campaign control and revenue analysis; choose an alternative if experimentation is essential.
