Our verdict on Faraday
Faraday is a collaborative vulnerability-management and penetration-testing platform for security teams, penetration testers, MSSPs, and application-security groups. It brings findings from manual work, report files, CLI tools, agents, and APIs into centralized workspaces. Teams can attach evidence to vulnerabilities, collaborate through role-based access, track remediation, and generate executive or technical reports. Its free, open-source Community edition supports self-hosting, while the platform also offers commercial and managed options.
Faraday’s strongest fit is its ecosystem and workflow layer. It supports imports from more than 120 security tools, including Nmap, Nessus, OpenVAS, Nexpose, Qualys, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Acunetix, Nikto, and Arachni. REST API access extends programmatic integration, while ticketing and CI/CD connections include Jira, GitLab, ServiceNow, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins. Scheduled and remote scanning through Faraday Agents adds automation, and the web, Linux, API, and self-hosted options suit hybrid deployment needs.
Pricing follows a contact-sales model for the commercial offerings. Pentest on Demand includes SaaS-based pentesting, a first infrastructure diagnosis, real-time visibility, and remediation-focused reports. Always On adds continuous offensive security and automation at scale. Enterprise+ provides a tailored solution for offensive security at enterprise scale. Faraday is a good choice for teams that need a shared finding-management and reporting workspace around existing testing tools, especially those seeking an open-source self-hosted option. Teams looking primarily for an exploit engine should consider a more execution-focused alternative.
