Our verdict on Fajita

Fajita is an uptime monitoring product for solo founders, small teams, indie hackers, and agencies that need checks across websites, APIs, SSL certificates, or cron jobs. It verifies failures before alerting and records incidents and uptime history. The platform can be self-hosted under AGPL-3.0, while Fajita Cloud provides managed monitoring; hosted public status pages are also part of the offering. That combination makes it relevant to self-hosters who want an approachable monitoring workflow, as well as teams that prefer a managed option.

According to the vendor’s pricing page, Core costs $12 per month and includes 100K checks monthly, up to 10 monitors with five-minute checks, email alerts, a public status page, and 30-day uptime history. Team is $49 per month, with 500K checks, up to 50 monitors with one-minute checks, Slack, Discord, and webhook alerts, plus a custom status domain and team seats. Scale costs $99 per month and includes 2M checks, up to 150 monitors with one-minute checks, higher subscriber and retention limits, and removal of powered-by branding on status email. The vendor says annual billing saves two months on every plan. There is no free plan, so the entry point is a paid subscription.

Monitoring covers more than basic website availability: API checks can use status codes and response times, SSL monitoring tracks expiry and validity, cron and heartbeat checks are supported, and keyword or JSON-path assertions can evaluate responses. Public status pages include incident timelines and uptime history, with recovery notifications available. Email works across the plans, while Slack, Discord, and webhooks are listed for Team. Core may suit a small setup that can accept five-minute checks and a 10-monitor ceiling. Teams needing one-minute checks or more monitors should consider Team or Scale; those wanting a free plan or intervals shorter than one minute should look elsewhere.
