Our verdict on EZCA
EZCA is a managed cloud PKI platform from Keytos for organizations that need to create and operate private certificate authorities. It supports internal TLS, device authentication, IoT certificates, Azure workloads, and hybrid PKI environments. Certificate issuance and renewal are available through ACME, EST, SCEP, and APIs, while certificate profiles and CA templates help organize issuance policies. The deployment options also extend beyond the managed cloud service to private infrastructure and self-hosted licensing.
Pricing is structured by CA or location. Basic costs $200 per CA per month and includes HSM-backed CAs, Azure integrations, ACME, EST, SCEP, and bring-your-own AD CS CA support. Premium costs $500 per CA per month and adds FIPS 140-3 Level 3 HSM-backed CAs, public CA certificate management, and priority support. Private Infrastructure costs $6,000 per location per month for fully isolated infrastructure and a dedicated private instance. Self-Hosted Licensing costs $3,000 per location per month and includes unlimited CAs plus infrastructure hosted in the customer’s environment. A 30-day free trial is available.
EZCA fits teams working primarily across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Azure Key Vault, and Azure IoT Hub, while also supporting AWS KMS, Windows ADCS, and Kubernetes. Its broader PKI capabilities include multi-region CA deployment, CRL and OCSP support, and audit log export to SIEM platforms. The Basic plan covers many core issuance and lifecycle needs, but organizations requiring dedicated isolation, customer-managed hosting, or higher-assurance HSM options should budget for the upper tiers. Choose EZCA for Azure-centered managed PKI with hybrid deployment flexibility; consider an alternative if a free plan or simpler flat pricing is essential.
