Our verdict on eGoldFax

eGoldFax is a cloud fax service for businesses, government organizations, healthcare providers, and other regulated teams. It supports sending and receiving faxes through email, an online administration portal, a Windows desktop application, and multifunction printers. Core capabilities include virtual fax numbers, inbound faxing, fax number porting, user permissions, access management, routing, reporting, and workflow connections. Its listed compliance level includes HIPAA and GDPR, making it a fit for organizations that need controlled fax handling rather than a lightweight personal fax tool.

Security and retention are central to the product. The service encrypts fax transmission with TLS 1.2 and HTTPS, adds two-factor authentication to the administration portal, and supports encrypted fax archiving for up to 10 years. Fax routing can send documents to email, folders, printers, and workflows, while reporting provides visibility into fax activity and usage. These features suit teams that need searchable operational records, defined access rights, and longer-term document retention. Organizations seeking a simpler, short-term fax utility may not need this level of administration and archival capability.

Its ecosystem fit is a major consideration for offices built around multifunction printers and established business software. eGoldFax integrates with Microsoft Outlook and Google Workspace, along with Sharp, Kyocera, Xerox, Ricoh, Canon, Konica Minolta, Fujifilm, PaperCut, and MyQ. The platform covers web, Windows, and API access, but mobile use is not represented by dedicated iOS or Android apps, and the desktop application is Windows-only. Choose eGoldFax when secure archival, MFP faxing, routing, and permissions are priorities; choose an alternative if native mobile apps or a self-service purchasing experience matter more.
