Our verdict on DS5 Mapper
DS5 Mapper is a desktop application that maps a Sony DualSense controller to keyboard and mouse input on Windows and macOS. It is aimed at DualSense owners who want gyro-to-mouse cursor aiming, full button remapping, and controller support for games that accept keyboard and mouse controls. The project began around League of Legends WASD mode, while its broader use is any compatible keyboard-and-mouse game.
Its feature set covers the main elements needed for this focused use case. DualSense connectivity works through USB or Bluetooth, with support provided via SDL2. A first-run permissions and calibration wizard helps prepare the controller, while persistent gyro calibration, independent yaw and pitch sensitivity controls, drift correction, and a disconnect watchdog address ongoing input adjustments. The application supports both Windows and macOS, and build instructions are provided for each platform. Its source code is distributed under the MIT license.
DS5 Mapper keeps its scope narrow: it converts DualSense input into keyboard and mouse actions rather than presenting a broader controller-management system. The published positioning does not include profiles for storing or switching configurations, and it does not provide virtual-controller output. That makes it a clear fit for users who specifically want free gyro aiming and remapped keyboard or mouse commands from a DualSense. Users who need multiple per-game profiles, support for controllers beyond DualSense, or virtual-controller features should choose a mapper designed around those requirements instead.
