It is best suited to infrastructure discovery and CMDB teams that need one system for inventory, relationships, lifecycle records, and service-management workflows.
The platform’s coverage is its main strength. Device42 supports software license discovery, tracking, and compliance alerts alongside contract, purchase, warranty, and lifecycle tracking. QR code and barcode labeling support mobile inventory workflows, while REST APIs, webhooks, imports, and integrations connect it with Freshservice, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, Zendesk, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Power BI, Puppet, Chef, and Splunk. InsightsAI adds natural-language CMDB queries and report generation, giving teams another way to work with infrastructure records.
