Our verdict on Depop
Depop brings secondhand fashion discovery and resale together for shoppers and sellers interested in pre-loved clothing, shoes, and accessories, including vintage and streetwear. On Android, shoppers can search listings, explore seller shops, message sellers, and buy within the app; sellers can create listings with photos and descriptions. The service is also available on iOS and web, and it is free to download without a recurring subscription. It suits people looking for fashion resale in one marketplace, rather than a broad store for unrelated product categories.
The buying and selling flow is built around individual listings and seller interaction. Buyers can ask sellers about items before purchase, and order tracking is available in the app. Sellers also have AI-assisted listing descriptions and attributes to help prepare listings. Depop offers shipping labels and shipping options in supported markets, so the fulfillment path depends partly on where a transaction takes place. These tools make the app relevant to casual sellers as well as fashion shoppers, while keeping the experience centered on resale rather than conventional retail inventory.
Although Depop is free to use and has no recurring subscription, transaction-related fees may apply depending on location and use; buyer marketplace and payment-processing fees vary by location. That makes the actual cost tied to transactions, not a monthly plan. Accounts support two-factor authentication, and support channels include email and documentation. Choose Depop if fashion discovery, seller messaging, in-app purchasing, and reselling are the main goals. Shoppers seeking general merchandise, or sellers who need shipping options outside supported markets, may prefer a broader marketplace.
