Our verdict on D Inspector

D Inspector is an on-device network traffic debugger for developers building or testing apps on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It routes device traffic through a local VPN proxy, with HTTP/HTTPS capture and HTTPS decryption for selected domains using an on-device certificate. Search and filtering cover URLs, headers, bodies, methods, status, content type, and domain. Its Apple-platform focus makes it a fit for developers who need to inspect app traffic from those devices, rather than a general-purpose proxy for wider environments.

The workflow extends beyond viewing requests. Breakpoints let developers pause and edit requests or responses; local files can mock responses, and requests can be redirected to different hosts. Scripts can modify requests and responses, while request composition and replay support repeatable checks. HAR session export and cURL request export provide ways to carry traffic details into other debugging workflows. JWT, Base64, and URL-encoded data decoding are also included. The vendor says traffic analysis and stored data remain on the user's device, and lists email and documentation as support channels.
