Our verdict on Cycle

Cycle is a hybrid infrastructure management and container orchestration platform for developers, DevOps engineers, and infrastructure teams. It provides a unified control plane for provisioning and managing customer-owned infrastructure across multiple cloud providers, on-premises environments, and bare-metal systems. The platform supports containers, virtual machines, and functions, making it relevant to teams coordinating varied deployment targets rather than managing a single provider. It is available through the web and API, and follows a bring-your-own-infrastructure model.

Pricing is aimed at organizations prepared for a substantial recurring platform cost. Lite is $500 per month and includes four servers, four team members, and 100 GB of image storage. Standard is $1,750 per month with 15 servers, 10 team members, and 500 GB of image storage. Scale / Enterprise is designed for established teams and includes custom server licences, custom seats, and 5,000 GB of image storage. A 30-day first-month evaluation is available. The absence of a free plan and the paid entry point make Cycle a stronger fit for funded teams with multi-environment requirements than for small projects testing multi-cloud operations.

Its strongest functional area is centralized infrastructure control. Cycle combines JSON/YAML environment-as-code stacks with Git sources, deployment pipelines, automated updates, role-based capabilities, resource ACLs, and hub-level audit logs. Integrated monitoring, logs, metrics, DNS, networking, and load balancing extend the control plane beyond provisioning. Integrations include AWS, Equinix Metal, GCP, Vultr, Depot.dev, Backblaze, Let's Encrypt, and GitHub Actions. Choose Cycle when hybrid deployment, governance, and provider flexibility matter together; teams seeking a free starting point or centered on Kubernetes management may prefer a different tool.
