Our verdict on CoffeeSprout

CoffeeSprout provides managed hosting for Java applications and JVM-based workloads, with support for Spring Boot, Quarkus and Jakarta EE. It combines managed Java servers, Kubernetes clusters and container hosting for agencies, product teams, Java teams without dedicated SRE staff, and scale-ups running multiple applications or environments. Infrastructure runs on owned hardware in Dutch data centers, with monitoring, backups, updates, automation and access to engineers included in the service positioning.

The pricing is structured around several operating models. Pods costs €100 per month and provides a managed Kubernetes namespace, managed ingress, TLS certificates, monitoring, logging, backups and deployment through kubectl, Helm or CI/CD. CaffeineStacks Espresso — Basis costs €300 per month for 8 GB RAM, 4 vCPU and 100 GB NVMe, with managed load balancing and verified backups; its Advanced version costs €550 per month and adds P1 production response outside office hours. Lungo — Basis and Advanced cost €400 and €650 per month, with 16 GB RAM, 6 vCPU and 150 GB NVMe. Latte — Basis and Advanced cost €500 and €750 per month, with 32 GB RAM, 8 vCPU and 200 GB NVMe. Cortado VM costs €150 per month for 4 GB RAM, 2 vCPU and 75 GB NVMe, intended for a database or small service inside a stack.

CoffeeSprout fits teams that want managed operational coverage rather than assembling Java infrastructure themselves. Automated JDK updates support Java 17, Java 21 and Java 25, while GitOps, Ansible, Git, kubectl, Helm and CI/CD pipelines cover several deployment approaches. GitHub and GitLab are listed integrations, and PostgreSQL and MariaDB are available database options. Twice-daily off-site backups, HAProxy load balancing and JVM observability strengthen the platform’s production focus. The €100 monthly starting price is high for small or budget-conscious projects, so teams seeking inexpensive Java hosting should choose an alternative; CoffeeSprout is better suited to organizations prioritizing managed infrastructure and operational support.
