Our verdict on Cloudflare One

Cloudflare One is a cloud security and Secure Access Service Edge platform for organizations replacing legacy network perimeters. It brings identity-aware private-application access, secure web gateway inspection, Cloudflare Tunnel connectivity, device posture checks, CASB monitoring, data loss prevention, and remote browser isolation into one control plane. Its coverage suits small proof-of-concept teams, organizations addressing focused SSE needs, and enterprises planning broader SASE or workspace security deployments.

The plan structure supports different deployment scopes. The Free Plan is intended for teams under 50 users or enterprise proof-of-concept tests, with community forums and Discord support, up to 24 hours of standard log retention, limited predefined DLP profiles, and up to two read-only CASB API integrations. Pay-as-you-go adds chat and ticket support and extends standard log retention to 30 days, while keeping limited predefined DLP profiles and offering Remote Browser Isolation as an add-on. The Contract Plan adds phone support, up to six months of standard log retention with Logpush, unlimited out-of-band CASB integrations as an add-on, and full-featured DLP as an add-on.

Cloudflare One fits environments with varied devices, cloud applications, and private resources. It supports web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and API access, with integrations including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Slack, GitHub, Box, Dropbox, AWS S3, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow. Device policies can use OS version, disk encryption, firewall state, and device serial number, while API and Terraform management support configuration workflows. Teams wanting broad security controls and platform reach should consider it; organizations needing only a narrow SSE function may find its wider control set unnecessary.
