Our verdict on Chefy
Chefy is a web-based hospitality costing platform for kitchens, bars and multi-venue restaurant groups. It combines nested recipe and sub-recipe building with live recipe and menu costing, supplier product and price management, inventory, wastage recording, procurement, production workflows and margin analysis. Operators can track ingredient prices and stock, update dish costs when supplier prices change, and connect Square sales to recipe costs. Its multi-venue features extend recipes, standards, stock and oversight across restaurant groups.
Pricing is modular. Start free costs $0 per venue per month and includes core costing and recipes, bulk product import, wastage recording and real-time costing updates. Sales costs $20 per venue per month for a POS connection, sales and margin analytics and costing visibility. Stocktake is $12 per venue per month for stocktakes and live stock accuracy, while Procurement is $29 per venue per month for supplier ordering and purchasing workflows. Chefy Go costs $12 per venue per month for mobile workflows and production and prep tools. Additional venues cost $65 per venue per month, additional users cost $4 per user per month, and organisation admin costs $15 per admin per month. The published plans show a low-cost entry point, but broader operations may require several modules.
The main advantage is breadth: Chefy brings recipe costing, inventory, purchasing, AI invoice capture, sales synchronization and multi-venue governance into one platform. Square is the listed integration, so the product fits operators using that sales system particularly well. Chefy is a strong match for restaurants that need connected costing and operations rather than recipe management alone.
