Our verdict on CheerSync

CheerSync is a web-based tryout app for cheerleading programs that need to capture, organize, and review athlete skill videos before assigning teams. Staff can categorize videos by tryout skill, evaluate athletes, and move them into groups using filters for level, age, and stunt position. The product also covers attendance, team and athlete information, messaging, and parent accounts, making it suited to small and mid-market programs managing selection and communication in one place.

The published plans are paid and do not include a free tier. Micro allows one video per tryout skill and up to three skills per tryout. Starter raises the allowance to two videos per skill while keeping the three-skill limit. Premium provides two videos per skill and up to five skills per tryout. Unlimited removes those listed limits with unlimited athletes, videos per skill, and skills per tryout. The pricing information lists a starting price of 299. CheerSync is available through the web and an iOS app, with cloud and mobile deployment; the app listing describes attendance tracking, team organization, messaging, and parent accounts.

Tryout selection is the standout focus. Video capture and review, combined with drag-and-drop grouping and position-based filters, support a structured evaluation workflow. Real-time team chat plus private or group messaging can keep communication tied to team organization, while attendance records extend the tool into routine practice administration. Programs seeking recurring class scheduling, tuition billing, or competition management should choose a platform that explicitly provides those functions instead. CheerSync fits teams prioritizing tryout decisions, athlete organization, and parent communication over broader gym-management operations.
