Our verdict on BugSplat

BugSplat is a cloud platform for capturing and analyzing crashes and errors across desktop software, web applications, mobile apps, and games. It collects symbolicated call stacks, runtime information, and custom attributes in a debugger-style interface. Game teams get dedicated Unity and Unreal integrations, while broader development teams can use the web interface, API, and support for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Its focus suits teams that need structured crash diagnosis rather than general application monitoring.

The free plan provides 3 user logins, 100GB of storage, 15,000 crashes per month, and 1-month retention. The Team plan costs $37 per month and adds 10 user logins, 250GB of storage, 25,000 crashes per month, 3-month retention, integrations, and alerts. Business costs $208 per month and includes 20 user logins, 500GB of storage, 50,000 crashes per month, 6-month retention, external or self-hosted symbol servers, API access, and MFA. Enterprise includes unlimited users and custom crash limits, a private support channel and SLA, console support, 1TB or more of storage, and up to 1-year retention. Annual billing is also listed for Team and Business, and BugSplat states that annual billing provides two months free.

Its standout value is the combination of crash grouping, searching, filtering, export, symbol uploads, source maps, and debugger-style analysis. Teams can route alerts through Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, and email, then create issues in Jira, GitHub Issues, Azure DevOps, or YouTrack. These connections make BugSplat practical for teams that already organize engineering work in those tools. Choose it for game-focused crash capture, especially with Unity or Unreal, or for a development team that wants a free starting tier. Teams needing broader observability beyond crash and error reporting should consider a different category of tool.
