Our verdict on Booking.js

Booking.js is an open-source JavaScript booking widget for developers building appointment scheduling experiences into web products. It connects to the Timekit API to display availability and create bookings, either through an embedded widget or a hosted booking page. Its feature set covers individual appointments, round-robin assignment, group and class bookings, reminders, calendar synchronization, and payment collection. A Timekit account is required, and the widget is distributed through a CDN or npm package.

Pricing is structured around the Timekit platform rather than a standalone Booking.js license. The Essential plan costs $49 per month and includes real-time availability, round-robin assignment, Google and Microsoft calendar synchronization, reminders and notifications, and a booking widget and page. Professional costs $149 per month and adds the Booking and Availability API, reports with booking insights, an API request log, webhooks, and a booking cancellation policy. Platform costs $349 per month and adds the Resource and Project API, action links, signed search, signed webhooks, and advanced booking rules. Enterprise includes the Platform features plus a custom DPA, custom rate limiting, custom scaling, and enterprise support. The vendor's test mode includes a 14-day API trial.

Booking.js fits teams that need scheduling inside their own web experience and want access to APIs, webhooks, configurable widgets, and payment providers such as Stripe, Braintree, and Adyen. Google Calendar and Microsoft synchronization support calendar-based availability, while round-robin and group bookings extend the widget beyond simple one-to-one appointments. The tradeoff is that this is a web-only, developer-oriented product tied to the paid Timekit platform. Teams building a web product should consider it when embedded control and platform-level scheduling features matter; organizations seeking a standalone scheduling tool without a Timekit dependency should choose an alternative.
