Our verdict on Banco Santander Brasil
Banco Santander Brasil combines personal accounts with payments, cards, credit products and investments, managed through its mobile app and web access. Customers can open a personal account online, check balances and statements, send and receive Pix, pay bills, and view and pay credit-card bills. Its Open Finance links let customers bring other banks’ account information into the app, making it a fit for people who want a view across accounts alongside everyday banking. The app also supports business services, though the account options described here focus on personal banking.
The three service packages offer distinct trade-offs. Conta Free has no service-package charge and includes unlimited Pix transfers plus unlimited free ATM and branch withdrawals. Conta Plus adds unlimited ATM withdrawals, investment-based discounts, and daily specialist chat and phone service from 06:00 to 22:00. Santander Select Plus includes unlimited services, overseas withdrawals, investment advisory and personalized service 24 hours a day. Santander also describes essential services without a package. The higher tiers center on service and investment benefits; choose among them based on which of those matter to you rather than assuming the account features are identical in every respect.
The app reaches beyond payments: customers can apply for and redeem investments, set up goal-based Minhas Reservas invested in a daily-liquidity CDB, and pay bills with a phone camera or shared PDF. Credit requests are subject to eligibility, so the app’s credit-card and loan options are not a guarantee of approval. Open Finance aggregation is the clearest reason to consider Santander alongside a basic Pix account, while customers who mainly want specialist assistance may weigh the Plus service hours or Select Plus’s personalized round-the-clock option. It suits people seeking one place for Brazilian banking and investments; those who do not need the broader financial-service range may prefer a simpler account.
