Automated daily backups cover repositories, commits, branches, tags, public and private Gists, issues, pull requests, comments, milestones, and repository wikis and documentation. On-demand backups provide an additional option when a team wants a copy outside the normal schedule.
Its restore approach is cautious: backups can be restored as a new GitHub repository rather than overwriting live data, or downloaded as ZIP archives. Optional copies can go to Dropbox, Google Drive, or Amazon S3. That makes the service relevant to teams seeking a GitHub-focused backup workflow with a choice of restore destination and storage copy, rather than a broader multi-platform backup product. The platform is web-based, with email and documentation support. Published compliance details include SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, and two-factor authentication.
