Our verdict on AquilaX API Security Scanner
AquilaX API Security Scanner analyzes API specifications and probes live endpoints for vulnerabilities across the OWASP API Top 10. It is aimed at DevSecOps teams working with REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI and other supported API formats. Teams can import specifications or URLs, test live endpoints, and trigger automated scans on every deployment. The scanner is part of AquilaX’s broader application-security platform and supports web, API and self-hosted environments.
Pricing separates general application-security capabilities from API scanning. The Free plan costs $0 forever and includes secrets scanning, PII detection, compliance auditing, unlimited scans, and CI/CD and IDE integration. Premium costs $19 per month and adds the API security scanner alongside SAST, SCA, DAST, container security, an IaC scanner and seven scan engines total. Ultimate costs $99 per month and adds malware detection, Securitron AI, AI-powered remediation, on-premises deployment and priority support. Enterprise adds custom seat counts, SSO/SAML, single-tenant on-premises deployment, custom compliance mapping, enterprise SLA guarantees and dedicated customer success.
Its strongest area is the depth of API checks: broken object-level authorization, authentication and token security, excessive data exposure through schema comparison, rate limiting, brute force, mass assignment, CORS and header misconfiguration. Integrations include GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CircleCI, Jira, Linear, Slack, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, Splunk and Elastic SIEM. The product suits teams wanting affordable automated API scanning within a wider DevSecOps workflow. Teams needing API scanning on a free plan should choose another option, while organizations needing enterprise controls should consider whether Ultimate or Enterprise matches their deployment and support requirements.
