The highest documented offers in this comparison are not all standalone themes: they include a $899 one-time Kadence bundle, a $249 Themify lifetime library, and The7 subscriptions that renew annually. That makes a definitive ranking of seven “most expensive” themes misleading. The prices and license details below are vendor-listed offers checked in 2026; promotions and terms can change.

Why there is no defensible seven-theme price ranking here

WordPress vendors sell different things under the theme label: a single theme license, a membership that bundles themes and plugins, or an agency subscription. Some prices are one-time payments; others are introductory first-year prices followed by renewals. Site limits and what happens after cancellation also differ.

The documented offers below are a useful comparison, not an exhaustive market survey or a ranking of the seven most expensive products. Current comparable prices were not established for every product in the source set, so this article does not invent a seventh entry or rank products with unlike licenses.

Documented premium WordPress theme offers

Product or plan Price documented in 2026 What the vendor says is included License and after-expiry terms
Kadence Lifetime Ultimate $899 one time (Kadence pricing page, accessed 2026) A bundle of themes, plugins, AI credits, design resources, and site-building, marketing, and e-commerce features. Up to 25 sites, with an upgrade option; lifetime support and updates. “Lifetime” describes the vendor’s license terms, not a guarantee that the products will be maintained forever.
Themify Lifetime Club $249 one time (Themify pricing page, accessed 2026) The vendor lists 42 themes, Builder Pro, plugins and add-ons, predesigned layouts, and updates/releases. Themify says its GNU GPL terms allow unlimited site use. Its FAQ distinguishes lifetime membership from non-lifetime memberships, for which downloads, updates, and support cease after expiry; files already downloaded can still be used.
The7 1-Site $39 for the first year, then $49/year renewal (The7 pricing page, accessed 2026) Updates, support, and access to the pre-made websites library while the plan is active. One production website. After cancellation, imported demos remain, but updates, support, new activations, and plan benefits stop.
The7 Unlimited $199 for the first year, then $249/year renewal (The7 pricing page, accessed 2026) Updates, priority support, and access to the pre-made websites library while the plan is active. Unlimited active websites. After cancellation, imported demos remain, but updates, support, new activations, and plan benefits stop.
Avada Current checkout price not established in the available official product information. The vendor describes a one-time license, lifetime updates, six months of hands-on support, and bundled premium plugins. Confirm the current sales-page price and license terms before purchase.
Divi / Elegant Themes membership A stable comparable price was not established in the available official information; promotional checkout offers may change the amount. The vendor promotes Divi through a membership and offers a lifetime membership option. The vendor describes unlimited website usage and lifetime membership access on its lifetime page. Confirm current checkout terms before purchase.
Astra Pro lifetime offers The pricing page displayed $279 for Astra Pro + AI lifetime and $249 for standalone Astra Pro lifetime, with promotion markers (accessed 2026). The first offer includes Astra Pro + AI; the second is standalone Astra Pro. Confirm current price, site entitlement, and bundle contents at checkout; the displayed prices are promotional and may change.

What makes an expensive license worth considering?

Many client sites

A multi-site license can be more practical than buying separate licenses, but compare the actual allowed use, not just the headline price. The7 Unlimited explicitly permits unlimited active websites and is an annual subscription. Kadence Lifetime Ultimate covers up to 25 sites under its listed terms. Themify states unlimited site use under its GPL licensing. Those entitlements are not interchangeable: check whether the plan fits client work, production sites, and your expected renewal needs.

A bundle you will actually use

Kadence’s $899 offer is best understood as a broad product bundle rather than the price of one theme. Themify’s Lifetime Club similarly trades a larger one-time payment for access to a library of themes and plugins. The value depends on whether those included products replace tools you would otherwise buy and maintain. A large bundle is not automatically a better deal if you need only one design or a small number of features.

Ongoing support and updates

Support, updates, templates, and plugin access can be meaningful parts of the purchase. The7’s listed subscription benefits continue while the plan is active, while its cancellation terms stop updates, support, new activations, and other plan benefits. Themify says non-lifetime membership downloads, updates, and support end when membership expires, although files already downloaded can still be used. Read the relevant vendor terms before treating any license as permanent access to ongoing services.

The7’s transition and existing lifetime licenses

The7 says The7 15 uses a modular, FSE-first architecture while retaining compatibility modes for existing non-FSE sites. The vendor also says new-generation development moved to direct subscriptions in 2026, while direct lifetime licenses purchased earlier remain valid under their terms. These are The7’s explanations of its own product and licensing history; buyers should check their specific license and site requirements. See The7’s update options.

Are premium WordPress themes faster or more profitable?

A higher price alone does not establish better performance, security, accessibility, conversions, or business returns. The documented offers describe license scope and included products, not independently measured outcomes. Choose based on the functions, site allowance, support, and renewal arrangement you need, and assess performance and accessibility for your own site rather than inferring them from price.

How to choose the right license

  1. Count the sites. Separate your own production sites from client projects and future builds; verify the vendor’s definition of permitted sites.
  2. Compare the full payment period. Put one-time prices beside first-year prices and their renewals. Do not compare a subscription’s introductory rate with a lifetime price as if they were equivalent.
  3. List the included products you will use. Identify whether themes, plugins, templates, support, and updates are part of the plan, and whether they remain available after cancellation.
  4. Check the live terms. Promotions, prices, site allowances, and license language can change. Confirm them on the vendor’s pricing or checkout page before paying.
