No new Bayonetta game for Nintendo Switch 2 has been announced. The confirmed link is a crossover: Stellar Blade Complete Edition was planned for Switch 2 with four Bayonetta costumes. In a separate discussion, PlatinumGames president Atsushi Inaba welcomed the idea of working together again, while Shift Up CEO Hyung-tae Kim offered to help design characters for a future Bayonetta. Those are expressions of interest, not confirmation that a game is in development.
What PlatinumGames said about Bayonetta’s future
In an interview published by Famitsu on September 20, 2026, Kim Hyung-tae—Shift Up CEO and Stellar Blade director—discussed his enthusiasm for Bayonetta and offered to help design characters for a future entry. Inaba, PlatinumGames’ president and studio head, was open to the possibility of collaborating again, according to GamesRadar’s report.

The remarks describe a possible creative collaboration, not a production announcement. Neither report confirms a new Bayonetta game, a Switch 2 version, a development team, or a release window. GamesRadar’s headline refers to “Bayonetta 4,” but its article describes Kim’s offer and Inaba’s interest rather than an officially announced project.
How the Switch 2 connection fits in
Famitsu reported that Stellar Blade Complete Edition was planned to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 6, 2026, with four Bayonetta collaboration costumes. That is a Switch 2 release of Stellar Blade featuring crossover outfits; it is not a new Bayonetta installment. The date is a reported plan, not confirmation of the edition’s eventual release status.

The interview’s collaboration news and the planned Switch 2 edition are related through the crossover, but they are distinct claims: the outfits are product content, while the comments about a future Bayonetta are expressions of interest. Neither establishes that PlatinumGames is making a Switch 2 Bayonetta.
What earlier comments do—and do not—tell us
In March 2023, after Bayonetta Origins, creator Hideki Kamiya and Nintendo producer Makoto Okazaki spoke tentatively about the series’ future. In Nintendo Everything’s March 18, 2023 report, which credits a translation, Kamiya said, “If I just come out and say it openly, we want to make this title part of a new series, and keep expanding the world.” Okazaki said, “So there’s certainly nothing concrete we can say at this point, but personally at least, I don’t think this is the end.”
Rank #2
- Witch fell her angel with her smile and beautiful black hair
- The Nintendo Switch is the origin of the action game series that works with the beautiful and brutal witch "Beyonetta"
- The thrill of throwing off your enemy attacks with a single sheet of paper, and the variety of combos will overwhelm your enemy. You can enjoy brilliant and extreme climax action with the angels of attacking
Those comments are historical and explicitly did not announce a concrete project. They should not be read as present-day confirmation of a sequel or a Switch 2 release. PlatinumGames’ December 8, 2017 announcement that Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, and Bayonetta 3 were coming to Nintendo Switch is likewise evidence of those earlier Switch releases—not evidence of a Switch 2 port.

- Any good story has a lesson about teamwork, no, In this tale, Cereza and Cheshire coordinate their efforts to fight faeries and solve puzzles. Use the Left Joy-Con controller to move Cereza and bind enemies with her magic. With the Right Joy-Con controller, move Cheshire to slash and chomp foes

What players can take from the news
- Interested in the crossover? The reported Switch 2 edition is Stellar Blade Complete Edition, with four Bayonetta outfits—not a Bayonetta game.
- Waiting for the next Bayonetta? The interview leaves open the possibility of future collaboration, but reports no greenlight, active development, platform, or release timing.
